The latter part of 2024 saw the members of Quota Alstonville busy in the community.
We are at risk of becoming “Bag Ladies”!
The members participated in providing Dignity bags filled with all sorts of personal care items for disadvantaged women.
We also sponsored 1000 orange bags for Our House clients, these bags are used to carry personal items between treatments. Our involvement in Our House is very special and we hope to expand our connection with mums & bubs who find themselves in need of this facility.
At Christmas we adopted five families through the Adopt a Family program with over 17 children involved. Besides valuable gift vouchers to help them through the festive season we also gave each family a Fun Day Bag, filled with beach balls, sunscreen, bubble wands, towels and items for an inexpensive day out.
With the new school year looming, we have filled 40 school backpacks with all the necessities for back to school. These were distributed through the Family Support Network.
These are all small projects in our community, but have such an important role bringing relief and pleasure to many.
Its back to work with a new year and the first item on the calendar is the Friendship High Tea in March. This event celebrates the many women in our community who contribute in so many ways. For more details www.quotaalstonville.com
