Act of Kindness – Local Schools

This last year our Club has initiated a project called Act of Kindness. The three local schools were contacted Alstonville and Wollongbar Primary School, along with St. Joesph’s Catholic School. The idea of the Award is to give a student a Certificate and Book Voucher from our local book shop to the value of $15.00 at their monthly assembly. The criteria for the award is not based on academic achievement but to a student that has shown a kindness or thoughtful action to a fellow student/s. The rationale is as encouragement to a student that might not be academic but help their self esteem or perhaps as an anti bullying strategy. Each month two members attend the assembly to present the award, this giving an opportunity to promote our Club in the community and for our members to be involved spreading the load to all our members as a team. The three schools have been most enthusiastic to the project. The program is in its infancy but has been enthusiastically received by the schools.
